She was Head of Mission and Representative of Canada to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah. Previously, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada in Tel Aviv.
During 18 years in the Foreign Service, including demanding assignments in Ottawa and tough postings in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Israel, and the West Bank, and working under both Liberal and Conservative governments, Katherine has shaped Canada’s vision and strategy in foreign contexts, strategically advancing the government’s objectives and interests. She has also represented Canada at the highest levels of government, including in adverse conditions, while juggling competing interests in true diplomatic fashion. Finally, she has established the partnerships and the relationships with a wide range of stakeholders required to build bridges across divides and sustain progress, growth and innovation.
This unique experience has ensured Katherine’s ability to provide strong analysis and results in matters related to the public and private sectors, and to develop an unmatched understanding of the significant risks posed by geo-strategic and political developments, new regulatory frameworks and governance issues. In this context, Katherine has advised senior executives how best to anticipate, assess, manage and mitigate risks in complex and sensitive political and security environments. And she has managed public relations risks by shaping the public discourse in adverse conditions, and developed strategic stakeholder partnerships.
Consistently recognised as an exceptional leader and communicator, Katherine has engaged with and advised leaders ranging from CEOs to community figures and from ministers to heads of governments.
